In the bustling area of Bangkok,Thailand,a former tobacco factory was transformed into a vibrant cultural landmark -Benjakitti Forest Park. This project confronted various challenges, including seasonal floods, droughts, severe waterpollution, poor accessibility, limited construction funds, and a tight timeframe of just 18 months. The design successfully restored the site into an urban park with a resilient ecosystem. It intercepted and reduced the destructive force of stormwater, filtered contaminated water, and provided essential wildlife habicat. Benjakitti Forest Park has not only become the largest public recreational venue for residents of downtown Bangkok but also servesas a low-maintenance, modular model for urban public greenspace design globally.
